Junior League
Welcome to the 2013 season of the Foxbridge Junior House League. This year we have implemented a few changes to our Junior House League to help make the golfers learn more and have fun!
Junior House League will run from July 3rd to August 28th for a total of 9 weeks of play. Important dates to remember are:
- July 3rd – Opening Day
- August 7th – Bring a Friend Day
- August 28th – Final Tournament (North Course)
Each week the golfers will play 8 holes of golf on our South Course at 274 Reach Street where the restaurant (Scrambles) is located. Drop off will be on the South by the restaurant and pick up will be at the Driving Range approximately 2-3 hours after tee off. Please check your golfer in with the organizer when you arrive and check them out when you leave. If your child is to go home with someone else, please let us know at drop off or by e-mail ahead of time.
This year we are pleased to have Brad Hickey as our Head Professional. Brad will be providing instruction at the driving range weekly at 3 different times convenient to any tee off time.
Instruction times will be from: (note: time subject to change based on the # of golfers)
- 10:00 a.m. to 10:20 a.m.
- 11:00 a.m. – 11:20 a.m.
- 12:00 p.m. – 12:20 p.m.
Please take these times into consideration when picking your child up at the Driving Range.
The lessons taught will follow a set schedule and change weekly. They will include rules and etiquette; putting; chipping; grip, stance and ball position; posture; alignment; weight transfer; and swing path.
August 7th is Bring a Friend Day! All junior house league golfers are welcome to bring a friend to golf with them on this day for only $5 & HST. The guests will be able to golf 8 holes and participate in the instruction as well. Please let us know one week in advance if your golfer will have a friend joining them August 7th.
August 28th is the End of the Season Tournament! Friends are also welcome to join us on this day. The final day will be a 9 hole tournament with games, prizes and lunch. The final tournament will take place on the North Course at 228 Brock Street East. More details to follow as we get closer to the date. Mark it on your calendar!
New this year – we will have a prize available to be won each week. On the course there will be a skill challenge for each player to complete with a prize/gift certificate to be won. The challenge will be geared to all skill levels giving all players a chance to win.
Again this year – a light lunch/snack will be provided each week. Each golfer will get a voucher for a hot dog and water redeemable at any time of that day. We will be taking orders at the Driving Range and bringing the hot dogs there so the golfers will not have to return to the restaurant.
The cost this year will be $150 & HST for non-members and $50 & HST for Junior Members of the golf course. Please fill out a registration form and return it to the clubhouse by June 15th.
